Semmeringbahn : Wiener Neustadt - Mürzzuschlag
I had a great time working on this one, some insanely detail and beautiful scenery!
I went pretty hard on the environmental ambience for this one, seeing as the route is almost entirely away from busy towns & cities. It not only meant really stretching the use of what I'd already made, but also creating new & fresh blueprints to help bring the route to life with a wider variety of nature ambience

There's a lot of pretty neat details on this route, so here's a few that I remember wanting to talk about:
While working on the West Somerset Railway remastering project, I noticed some bird blueprints that were positioned in 3D, called 'Domes'. I thought this was great as (Aside from my tree wind & bird spline), nature sounds where just stereo ambience. So I've brought this back! There's all sorts of cool creatures in there; Owls, Bats, Even some woodpeckers!
There's a narrow gauge railway near Payerbach Reichenau station, the track's represented in-game so I thought it would be a nice touch to have a whistle blow every now and then from over the hill. I found some reference footage from the railway so was able to design my own whistle sounds to match the reference
As a cool little detail, (almost a bit of an easter egg seeing as how hard it is to notice in normal gameplay). I thought it would be cool to have some houses loudly watching the TV or listening to music in evenings.
For the TV, I re-used the short shows I designed for Oliver's upgraded passenger animations. But just made them sound like they were playing inside a house, from a TV.
For the music, I used some of my own music that I'm planning to release for free once I finish the album. It's fairly unintelligible with the amount of muffling I applied but it's certainly groovier than royalty free music. I also don't have to worry about licenses & rights because I'd made them, phew!
There are 3 houses on the route, near the track, that plays this noise from 9pm until Midnight. But I'm not saying where. Here's what to listen out for:
This is the only context clue I'm giving:
